
The media office of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education denied, in a statement, the rumors circulating in some media outlets and social media platforms regarding a decision by the Minister of Education and Higher Education, “Rima Karami,” to extend the holiday break due to the spread of the influenza virus (H3N2) A.
The media office clarified that these reports are false, and called on various media outlets and social media users to verify the accuracy of information before publishing it, and to ensure that they obtain it from the official sources accredited by the ministry, represented by the official website and the ministry’s pages on social media platforms.
The Minister of Education and Higher Education, “Rima Karami,” affirmed her great concern for the safety of students, and her constant endeavor at the same time to ensure a fruitful and successful academic year. She added that she is in constant contact with the Minister of Public Health, “Rakan Nasser El-Din,” and is closely monitoring developments in the health situation and the necessary measures to limit the spread of the influenza virus.
The statement indicated that the Ministry of Education will issue additional statements on this matter whenever necessary.
