مصر: طفرة سياحية غير مسبوقة متوقعة في عام 2025

Tourism in Egypt witnessed a remarkable boom in 2025, with the country receiving approximately 19 million tourists, recording a growth of 21% compared to 2024, according to official announcements.

The Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Sherif Fathy, described these results as a “major achievement” that highlights Egypt’s competitiveness. He pointed out that this growth exceeds the global rate estimated by the “United Nations Tourism Organization” by about 5%, considering it evidence of tourists’ confidence in Egypt as a “diverse and safe” destination that offers “integrated experiences.”

In 2025, the airports of Cairo, Hurghada, Sharm El-Sheikh, and Marsa Alam topped the list of airports that received the most tourists. Archaeological sites and museums witnessed an increase in the number of visits by foreign tourists, with the exception of the Museum of Civilization and the Grand Egyptian Museum, receiving 18.6 million tourists, an increase of 33.5% compared to 2024.

Charter tourist flights also recorded a growth of 32%. The new city of El Alamein witnessed a significant leap with a growth rate of 450% in charter flight traffic, making it a prominent new destination on the international tourism map, according to the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, which attributed this to the strategy of diversifying destinations and “integrating” multiple tourism products into one experience.

During 2025, tourist flights were operated from 193 cities around the world to Egyptian tourist destinations. The Minister confirmed that the next stage will focus on building on these results to achieve sustainable tourism growth that benefits the national economy. (Russia Today)
