The Moroccan national team player, Ilias Ben Seghir, spoke about the friendly competitive relationship he has with his Algerian teammate at Bayer Leverkusen, Ibrahim Maza, and emphasized his strong desire to beat him if they meet in a potential match in the semi-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in Morocco.
In an interview with “Afrikick Media”, Ben Seghir said about Maza: “We joke a lot about this, and we hope to play against each other, because a Morocco-Algeria match would be amazing.”
He added: “We now know that it is complicated, as we have to reach advanced stages to face each other… They know what they have to do, and we also know what we have to do.”
Regarding the message he sends to his teammate Maza, Ben Seghir said with a smile: “If we play against them, they’re finished.”
It is worth mentioning that the Moroccan national team will face Tanzania in the round of sixteen, while the Algerian national team will play a tough match against the Democratic Republic of Congo.
