Minister of Administrative Development, Fadi Makki, announced from Baabda Palace that with the beginning of the new year, he had a meeting with President Joseph Aoun. The meeting discussed the current general situation and the difficult challenges facing Lebanon in these sensitive circumstances.
He added that he presented to the President the latest developments and achievements made in the Ministry of State for Administrative Development Affairs, especially within the framework of the “Rebuilding State Administrations and Institutions 2030” initiative. He affirmed that this initiative represents, for the first time since the era of President Fouad Chehab 65 years ago, an integrated and comprehensive effort to rebuild public administration according to modern and advanced foundations.
Makki also explained that the first phase, the “Citizen’s Charter,” has been successfully completed. This charter works to consolidate the principles of modern public administration and define the rights and duties of both the citizen and the administration. In addition, he noted the launch of the second phase of the initiative, which focuses on preparing the guiding plan for reorganizing public administration, after securing the necessary financial support, and is scheduled to be completed during the first half of the year. He stressed that the reform path is proceeding with clear and practical steps towards establishing a modern administration capable of restoring citizens’ confidence.
