خريس يرد على منتقديه بسبب تصريحاته حول "أول من حمل البندقية في وجه إسرائيل"

Deputy Ali Khreis clarified that “some voices that reach us from inside, especially through social media platforms, which accuse Speaker Nabih Berri, lead us to wonder: Are they attacking him because he is steadfast on his principles, defends national unity, and constitutes a fortress for this nation, or because he was the first to take up arms in the face of the Israeli enemy?”

Khreis’s statement came during the commemoration of the third annual anniversary of the passing of Hajj Khalil Mahmoud Najm (Abu Mahmoud), in the Imam Sadr Hussainiya – Batoulieh.

Khreis affirmed that “what we face today of intimidation and threats aims to abandon our values, our goal, and our protection of this land,” considering that “some have forgotten that we belong to the path of Imam Sayyid Musa al-Sadr, who changed concepts, and replaced them with the equation of building a strong state on solid foundations, capable of protecting its borders and its people, and that the strength of Lebanon lies in its unity, its army, its people, and its resistance in the face of the Israeli enemy.”

He added that “some in the interior do not consider Israel an enemy, while for us it is absolute evil, and dealing with it is forbidden,” stressing that “Lebanon is going through a difficult stage, and we will confront all conspiracies with our national unity and the preservation of the formula of coexistence, and we will not allow unity to be at the expense of our goal, our approach, and our dignity.”

Khreis pointed out that “the upcoming electoral entitlement will take place according to the current law and on its scheduled date, without any delay or postponement,” stressing that “everyone who seeks to change the law does not want to hold parliamentary elections.”

He concluded by saying: “Let us protect this nation, because the best way to confront the enemy is to maintain internal peace.”
