خلافًا للانتقادات الموجهة لـ"بري": خريس يؤكد أن "البعض في الداخل لا يعتبر إسرائيل عدوًّا"

Deputy Ali Khreis said: “Some of the mouthpieces we hear inside, especially through social media, which direct accusations against the Speaker of Parliament, Nabih Berri, raise the question of whether the attack on him is due to his firmness in his positions and his role as a protector of national unity and a safety valve for this country, or because he was the first to take up arms against the Israeli enemy.”

During a memorial ceremony in the Imam Sadr Hussainiya in Batoulieh, Khreis explained that “what is being practiced on us today in terms of intimidation and threats aims to push us to abandon our values, our project, and the protection of this land,” adding that “some have forgotten that we belong to the line of Imam Sayyid Musa al-Sadr, who changed the equations, and put the equation of building a strong state on clear foundations, and capable of defending its borders and its people,” and affirmed that “Lebanon is strong in its unity, its army, its people, and its resistance in the face of the Israeli enemy.”

He continued, saying: “Some inside do not consider Israel an enemy, while for us it is an absolute evil, and dealing with it is forbidden,” stressing that “the stage we are going through is difficult, and we will face all conspiracies with our national unity and the preservation of the formula of coexistence, and we will not accept that unity be at the expense of our project, our line, and our dignity.”

Regarding the elections, Khreis indicated that “the upcoming electoral process will take place according to the current law and on its specified date without any delay or postponement,” considering that “everyone who seeks to introduce amendments to the law does not want to hold parliamentary elections.”

He concluded by saying: “Come, let us protect this country, because the best face of war with the enemy is civil peace.”
