Minister of Interior and Municipalities Ahmad Hajar received this afternoon at the ministry headquarters Brigadier General Imad Khreich, Director General of Civil Defense in charge, accompanied by a delegation from the Lebanese Civil Defense, to offer congratulations on the occasion of the holidays.
During the meeting, the plans and procedures carried out by the Civil Defense during New Year’s Eve were reviewed, with a focus on full readiness and preparedness to deal immediately with any emergency incident, in order to protect citizens, especially in places of gatherings and celebrations, on main roads, and in mountainous areas.
Hajar praised “the great efforts made by the elements and volunteers of the Civil Defense throughout the year,” praising “their sacrifices in various tasks of firefighting, rescue, and first aid,” stressing that “their role is pivotal in maintaining public safety and helping citizens and serving them, and deserves all appreciation and support.”
Hajar also stressed the need to continue cooperation and coordination between the Civil Defense and the rest of the concerned agencies.
