FBL-AFR-2025-MATCH 21-DZA-BFA

A news report from Spain states that Barcelona is considering the possibility of signing Ibrahim Maza, the midfielder for Bayer Leverkusen and the Algerian national team, who is currently participating in the African Cup of Nations.

The Spanish newspaper “Mundo Deportivo” stated, citing Algerian press sources, that Barcelona scouts will closely monitor Maza’s performance in the Algeria vs. Equatorial Guinea match on Wednesday evening, as part of Group E competitions, where “The Greens” lead the group standings with a full score (6 points from two matches).

Maza, who was born in Berlin in November 2005, plays as a playmaker and can also occupy the second striker position or play on the wings.

Since joining Leverkusen last summer from Hertha Berlin, Maza has performed well so far, scoring 4 goals and assisting 3 in 21 matches with his German team.

The German club paid 12 million euros to sign him and signed a contract with him until 2030, which increases his market value and makes any future deal expensive.

Despite the lack of official confirmation from the Catalan side so far, the name Ibrahim Maza remains among the names nominated to join the team in the coming weeks, especially if the player continues to perform strongly with the Algerian national team in the continental tournament.
