رسالة "رجي" إلى إيران: نحو حوار بناء وشفافية

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Youssef Raji, expressed the great importance of establishing balanced relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, based on a solid foundation of respect for Lebanon’s sovereignty and full independence.

This position issued by Minister Raji came in response to a congratulatory cable he received from his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araqchi, on the occasion of Christmas and the approaching year 2026. The Minister affirmed that peace and prosperity are a fundamental requirement for both countries, Lebanon and Iran, as well as for the entire Middle East region, calling for the start of a new phase of bilateral relations between the two countries.

Minister Raji reiterated his aspiration to launch a genuine and well-defined dialogue, which contributes to strengthening mutual trust between Lebanon and Iran, stressing that this relationship must be based on a constructive methodology, based on mutual respect between the two countries.

He also stressed that bilateral cooperation should be limited to dealing between the governments of the two countries and their official and legal institutions only, in order to preserve the sovereignty and independence of each of the two countries, and to achieve prosperity and well-being for the Lebanese and Iranian people.
