The opponent of the Egyptian national team in the round of 16 of the African Cup of Nations, currently being held in Morocco, has been determined.

The Egyptian national team has successfully qualified for the second round of the tournament, topping Group B with 7 points, after achieving two victories over Zimbabwe and South Africa, in addition to a draw with Angola.

Based on today’s match results, it became clear that the “Pharaohs” will face the Benin national team, which finished third in Group D.

The Benin national team, known as the “Squirrels”, suffered a defeat today against Senegal in the third round of the group stage with a score of (0-3), to officially occupy third place with 3 points.

The match between Egypt and Benin is scheduled to take place on Monday, February 5th, at the “Adrar” stadium in Agadir.

It is worth noting that the Egyptian national team holds the record for the number of times winning the continental championship with 7 titles, the last of which was in 2010, knowing that it reached the final match twice after that, but settled for second place.
