سامسونغ: بطاريات مبتكرة تجمع بين الأداء العالي والسلامة

The tech website “WCCFTech” revealed in a report that Samsung is currently developing a new generation of mobile phone batteries, featuring ultra-high capacities of up to 20,000 mAh.

Samsung indicated that these batteries will rely on cells made of silicon and carbon, giving them a greater capacity than traditional lithium-ion batteries, in addition to improving the level of safety and stability. This innovative battery consists of two independent cells, the first with a capacity of 12,000 mAh and a thickness of 6.3 millimeters, and the second with a capacity of 8,000 mAh and a thickness of 4 millimeters.

The report mentioned that this battery is still under testing and faces some challenges, such as the bloating problem that may lead to explosion, but the company is working hard to find solutions to these problems to make the battery ready for use in its upcoming phones.

This development comes in the wake of strong criticism directed at Samsung for continuing to use batteries with a capacity of only 5,000 mAh, while some Chinese phones exceed this limit by far, with their battery capacity reaching 10,000 mAh.

It is worth noting that Samsung has faced difficulties in the past with high-capacity batteries, most notably the “Galaxy Note 7” incident in 2016, when the batteries caused a series of explosions, which later prompted the company to use lower-capacity batteries with moderate charging technology to ensure user safety.
