Hamza Abdelkarim

Ahmed Gaballah, the doctor of the Egyptian Al-Ahly club, explained the nature of the injury sustained by Hamza Abdel Karim, a rising player in the team.

It is worth mentioning that Abdel Karim’s name has recently been linked to a possible move to Barcelona during the winter transfer window in January, amid reports that the Catalan club has submitted its final offer in the past few hours.

Hamza was injured during his team’s match against Al-Moqawloon Al-Arab, which was held on Tuesday as part of the fourth round of the Egypt Capital Cup, which necessitated his substitution during the first half of the match.

In a statement via the official Al-Ahly club website, Gaballah said: “Hamza complained of pain in his foot and ankle as a result of a strong contusion he suffered against Al-Moqawloon Al-Arab.”

He added: “Hamza Abdel Karim was substituted to avoid increasing the pain and preventing the injury from worsening.”

In a related context, Basel Tabbal, a correspondent for the “beIN Sports” network, confirmed earlier today that Barcelona had submitted its final offer to sign the player Hamza Abdel Karim.

Tabbal wrote on his “Facebook” account: “Barcelona has submitted its final offer to Al-Ahly Club to sign Hamza Abdel Karim, and things are close to being decided this time.”
