The Moroccan national football team managed to secure a place in the round of 16 of the African Cup of Nations, after their overwhelming victory over the Zambian national team with three goals to nil in the match that brought them together today, Monday.

The first half of the match witnessed clear Moroccan dominance, resulting in two goals scored by Ayoub El Kaabi and Brahim Diaz in the ninth and twenty-seventh minutes respectively, on the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in the capital, Rabat.

In the second half, Ayoub El Kaabi strengthened the “Atlas Lions'” lead by scoring his second goal in the match and the third for his team in the fiftieth minute.

With this victory, the Moroccan national team raised its score to seven points, ensuring the top of Group A and qualifying for the next round, after its previous victory over the Comoros Islands with two goals to nil and its draw with Mali in the first two matches.

On the other hand, the Zambian national team’s score stopped at only two points after two draws in the first two rounds, to occupy the fourth and final place in the group, and leave the tournament from the group stage.
