The Directorate of Information and Public Relations of the Association of Banks in Lebanon announced in a statement issued today, Monday, that the Board of Directors of the Association held a meeting today to discuss Decree No. 2224 issued on December 29, 2025, which referred to the Parliament the draft law on “Financial Regularity and Deposit Recovery.”
Based on the foregoing, the Council decided to invite the Lebanese banks operating to a meeting at twelve o’clock noon on Monday, January 5, 2026, to discuss the aforementioned draft law.
The statement stressed that the purpose of this meeting is to study the content of the project and take appropriate decisions regarding it, while emphasizing the need for cooperation between banks to face this matter.
