السيد: الوزارة حققت تقدماً في ملفّي الأمن الغذائي وعودة النازحين

Minister of Social Affairs, Hanine El Sayed, announced via her “X” account that the Ministry of Social Affairs, since the beginning of the Reform and Rescue government in February 2025, has paid special attention to protecting citizens and enhancing their ability to withstand the challenges Lebanon is going through. She affirmed that the field achievements are embodied in a set of indicators and figures that reflect the positive impact of social work.

The minister clarified that the ministry provides monthly support to approximately 800,000 Lebanese citizens in the field of providing food security through the “Aman” program, in addition to supporting 31,271 beneficiaries of the National Disability Allowance (NDA) program, as well as providing care for 9,100 people with disabilities in specialized institutions and centers that cooperate with the ministry.

She pointed out that the efforts extended to include providing support to more than 250,000 internally displaced persons who were affected by the recent war, in addition to providing more than 150,000 social services through 165 social development centers spread throughout various Lebanese regions. These services include psychological and social support, healthcare, recreational activities, and awareness programs.

She also pointed to providing permanent care for 1,450 elderly people in care homes that contract with the ministry, in addition to 23,000 children benefiting from social care services provided by these institutions.

El Sayed added that the ministry has injected more than $255 million into the local economy through cash financial support programs, and at the same time affirmed the achievement of a safe and sustainable return of more than 400,000 Syrian displaced persons to Syria within the framework of the return plan prepared by the government committee headed by the Ministry of Social Affairs and in cooperation with international partners.

In conclusion, she affirmed that these numbers are not just statistics, but rather an embodiment of a daily commitment towards citizens, and a desire to ensure that the state is present where it is most needed.
