Sheikh Naim Qassem, Secretary-General of Hezbollah, affirmed that the founding leader Abu Salim Yaghi followed, since his early childhood, the path of “authentic Islam,” indicating that his participation in the Imam Sadr festival in Baalbek was at the age of fourteen, which indicates his early involvement in this path.
In his speech on the anniversary of the passing of the founding jihadist leader Abu Salim Yaghi, Qassem mentioned that the martyr was among the first to join the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, and pointed out that the Shura chose him as a representative of Hezbollah in the Baalbek-Hermel region for the periods from 1992 to 1996, and from 2000 to 2005.
He explained that Abu Salim Yaghi’s ideal was represented by the supreme religious authority Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr, Musa al-Sadr, Ruhollah Khomeini, and Ali Khamenei, pointing out that the environment surrounding him was full of great scholars, and that resistance was the basis of his life, as he was a field commander.
Sheikh Qassem explained that Abu Salim Yaghi aspired to be one of the soldiers of Imam al-Mahdi (aj), stressing that his entire life was devoted to spreading the word of truth, serving the people, especially the poor, and supporting the Mujahideen. He described him as a man of faith, committed, and courageous, with a great social sense, and represents a model for the people of the Bekaa to embrace resistance, pride, dignity and honor.
He pointed out that Hezbollah originated from the Baalbek-Hermel region, where they were the first to make sacrifices, and recalled that Abu Salim Yaghi was from the founding generation, a dear brother and trusted by Hassan Nasrallah.
In a separate context, Sheikh Naim Qassem congratulated the Christians in Lebanon and the world on the occasion of the birth of the Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him), expressing his hope that his heavenly teachings will prevail in the world, and that humanity will turn towards morals and virtues.
