A Spanish press report revealed the club that tried to sign the Argentine “Franco Mastantuono,” a Real Madrid player, in the upcoming winter transfer window in January.
Reports issued yesterday, Sunday, indicated that Real Madrid insists on keeping Franco in its ranks for the remainder of the current season, without referring to the potential destination that “Mastantuono” was linked to.
According to the Spanish newspaper “Marca,” Napoli inquired from Real Madrid about the possibility of obtaining the services of “Mastantuono” on loan in January.
The newspaper stated: “Napoli are looking for new players in midfield after the injury crisis that sidelined Kevin De Bruyne, André-Frank Zambo Anguissa, and Billy Gilmour.”
It added: “Given the restrictions on their budget, any new deals will be paid for by selling players, so they are trying to loan players to strengthen their ranks.”
However, “Marca” confirmed that Real Madrid is not even willing to consider the option of loaning the Argentine star.
It is worth noting that the Royal Club had spent 60 million euros to sign him from River Plate last summer, in strong competition with Paris Saint-Germain.
The young Argentine player is only 18 years old, and he scored his first goal against Levante, but a thigh injury in early November stopped his progress.
Real Madrid remains convinced that “Mastantuono” must remain with the team this season so that he can adapt to European football, and refuses to loan him to Napoli.
