النائب ينال صلح: الانتخابات حق سيادي غير قابل للمساومة... والشعب منبع الشرعية

Deputy Yanal Solh affirmed that the upcoming elections represent a crucial turning point in the battle to defend national sovereignty, considering that the parliamentary elections are not merely a formality or a technical detail, but rather a sacred constitutional right and a fundamental tool in the hands of the people to hold accountable erroneous policies and renew political life based on free will, away from any external interference.

Solh stressed that any attempt to postpone the elections or link them to political conditions or external pressures is a clear violation of the constitution and the right of the Lebanese to express their opinions, emphasizing that real change does not come from abroad nor is it planned in closed rooms, but rather is made by the people through ballot boxes, when elections are held on time and with standards of integrity and transparency, without intimidation or enticement.

He explained that the Lebanese people, despite the difficulties, siege, and attacks, have proven at all stages that they are ready to defend their dignity and choices, and that their voice will remain stronger than any attempts to circumvent their will or confiscate their independent national decision.

Regarding the internal situation, Solh warned of the danger of lenient or hesitant official policies, or those that tend towards options based on surrender instead of confrontation, and on external dictations instead of free national decision, in light of the continuation of Israeli aggression, the existence of occupied territories, the shedding of blood, the destruction of villages, and the displacement of residents.

He affirmed the rejection of any policy based on making unjustified concessions or taking fateful decisions without return, considering that the most dangerous thing that countries can face is not war alone, but a political administration that acts as if the country has no people, no history, and no sacrifices. He said: “We are not a defeated nation and we will not be, and we are not a weak people and we will not be, and the patience of the Lebanese is not a sign of weakness but rather evidence of awareness, strength, and steadfastness.”

He called on the government to bear its full national responsibilities by declaring clear priorities, foremost of which is the liberation of the occupied territories, the return of the displaced to their homes with dignity and safety, the launch of a genuine reconstruction workshop, and serious work to release the prisoners, stressing that “there is no sovereignty without land and no stability without dignity.”

He pointed out that the “Loyalty to the Resistance” bloc affirmed its supportive position for holding the parliamentary elections on their scheduled date, just as is the case with all other constitutional deadlines, as a true expression of the will of the people.

Solh’s statements came during his patronage of the opening of the art and craft exhibition organized by the “Nahla BelQalb” association in the house and school of Sheikh Mustafa Al-Yahfoufi – may his soul rest in peace, in the presence of social and educational figures and residents of the town. He considered that this exhibition is not just a passing activity, but rather a political and social message expressing the rejection of the people of Nahla, Bekaa, and Lebanon to be recipients of aid or victims of failed policies, and their insistence on being partners in production and makers of hope despite all circumstances.

He pointed out that the exhibited works reflect the choice to stay in the land and work with dignity, and to transform the workforce into a real productive force, and not just numbers in poverty and migration lists, praising the role of the association and all the trainers and participants in investing in people and supporting small initiatives that form the basic pillar of any free national economy.

At the end of his speech, Solh congratulated all Lebanese, Christians and Muslims, on the occasion of the glorious holidays and the birth of Jesus Christ, the symbol of truth and victory over injustice, stressing that Lebanon, with its diversity, national partnership, and coexistence, is a country that will not be broken no matter how severe the pressures. He also called for supporting national products and visiting the exhibition, considering that this constitutes an “act of economic resistance” and an investment in people and in the future of Nahla and Lebanon, directing his greetings to the martyrs, wishing the wounded a speedy recovery, and patience for the displaced and the refugees.
