كفرشوبا: هاشم ينتقد عمل لجنة "الميكانيزم" في ظل القصف

MP Qassem Hashem, a member of the “Development and Liberation” bloc, considered the repeated shootings at populated houses in the town of Kfarshouba to be no less dangerous than the attacks on the front-line villages in the south. He believes that this targeting falls within a plan aimed at emptying these villages of their people and turning them into a depopulated area, in service of aggressive Israeli plans.

Hashem stressed that this situation requires the “Mechanism” committee to fulfill its duties, especially since it responds quickly to any Israeli claims or allegations, which contributes to spreading fear in the hearts of the southern residents and distorting the facts before the public about sovereign issues that have no basis and occur on Lebanese territory.

He added that what Lebanon is witnessing, starting from Kfarshouba and Shebaa to the border villages and towns, is happening without any consideration, which raises doubts about the role of this committee. He stressed the need for the government to raise its voice and demand that the enemy abide by the terms of the ceasefire agreement.

Hashem asked: “Is it not enough for the people of the southern border villages to stand firm and remain on their land despite the difficult economic and social conditions, and in light of the absence of the components of steadfastness and the decline of the state’s presence as a sponsor for its people, especially those whose steadfastness constitutes a title of identity and national belonging in the farthest border regions?”

In conclusion, Hashem affirmed that it has become necessary for the concerned parties to exploit and employ the strengths and influence that Lebanon possesses to ward off danger and aggression against the Lebanese, and to stop the policy of ignoring the south and leaving it to its fate, or surrendering to the status quo without activating all available capabilities.
