After rumors spread about the possibility of his dismissal following the lackluster performance in the 2025 Arab Cup in Qatar, the Saudi Arabian Football Federation put an end to speculation about the future of French coach Hervé Renard, the national team’s manager.
Some press reports mentioned that the Saudi Arabian Football Federation was seriously considering dispensing with Renard due to the public dissatisfaction that followed the 1-0 loss to Jordan in the semi-final round.
In response to these circulating reports, the Media and Communication Department of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation issued a statement denying any intention to make a change in the technical staff of the Saudi first team, stressing that this news is completely baseless.
The administration also stressed that everything published about nominating alternative names or entering into negotiations with new coaches is pure fabrication and does not reflect the current reality of the team.
Renard had previously stated that he was not afraid of the idea of leaving the Saudi national team, noting that such matters are a natural part of the world of football.
