Hezbollah issued an official statement addressing the bombing that targeted the “Imam Ali Mosque” in the city of Homs, expressing its strong condemnation of this terrorist act, which represents a flagrant violation of the sanctity of safe worshippers and high religious and humanitarian values.
The statement affirmed the party’s condemnation of this heinous criminal act that targeted worshipers inside the “Imam Ali Mosque” while performing Friday prayers in the holy month of Rajab, which resulted in the martyrdom and injury of dozens of innocent people.
The party also clarified that targeting places of worship clearly reveals the identity of the perpetrators of this criminal act, who do not respect any sanctities, do not believe in intellectual and religious diversity, but rather rely on spreading hatred, exclusion and rejection of the other, in service of American and Israeli goals and projects.
Hezbollah called for the immediate disclosure of the identity of the perpetrators from these misguided groups and bringing them to justice to receive the maximum penalties, stressing the need to pursue everyone who is behind this criminal act or provides any form of support for it.
At the conclusion of its statement, the party extended its warmest condolences and sympathy to the families of the martyrs, praying to God Almighty to bless the martyrs with his vast mercy, to grant the wounded a speedy recovery, and to achieve stability, progress and prosperity for the Syrian people.
This position comes in the wake of the horrific bombing that the city of Homs witnessed yesterday, which took place inside the “Imam Ali Mosque” during Friday prayers, resulting in a large number of casualties and injuries to many people. A tight security cordon has been imposed around the area, amid a state of shock and anger prevailing on the Syrian street.
