السياحة تزدهر: "طائرات ممتلئة وأسواق ناشطة".. لحود تسلط الضوء على الانعكاسات الاقتصادية

The Minister of Tourism, Laura Lahoud, affirmed in a statement to “Al-Anbaa” newspaper, while following up on the tourism movement during the holiday period, that the tourism sector in Lebanon is witnessing remarkable prosperity, saying: “The movement is very active, from full planes and high reservations in hotels and restaurants, to clear activity in commercial markets that open their doors until late at night.”

Lahoud highlighted that “these indicators reflect a positive reality for the country’s situation, especially since the movement included various regions, and its impact was direct on the economy as a whole.”

She explained that “despite all the difficulties and challenges, Lebanese expatriates and tourists from Arab brothers still choose Lebanon to spend the holiday, which is essential in the path chosen by the President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, and the government collectively, headed by Dr. Nawaf Salam, to rebuild confidence in Lebanon little by little.”

Regarding the Ministry of Tourism’s efforts to keep pace with this active movement, Lahoud mentioned that “the Ministry is in full coordination with the security services and the private sector, to ensure the best experience for visitors to the country during this period,” and indicated that the work is based “on the continuity of tourism in Lebanon throughout the year, not to be limited to seasons.”

Regarding the official figures for visitors from Lebanese and foreigners, the Minister of Tourism stated that “the Ministry is in close contact with the private sector to obtain accurate figures on which to build, in a way that serves those working in the tourism sector and those wishing to invest in it.”

At the end of her speech, Lahoud stressed that “Lebanon has gone through very difficult experiences, but it has proven its will to rise,” and said: “We are determined as a government to have a sovereignty that protects the country, security that reassures people, and reform that restores confidence, especially since Lebanon, as the campaign we launched at Beirut airport in cooperation with the private sector says, is the sweetest gift for the holiday, and the most important thing is to restore hope and faith that a new page has been opened, because the Lebanese deserve to celebrate life always, without fear or anxiety about tomorrow.”
