In a joyful atmosphere, the Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat hosted a dazzling opening ceremony for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. For his part, Patrice Motsepe, President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), expressed his pride in launching a new edition of the tournament, stressing that the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations “represents a celebration of the unity of the continent and its values,” and emphasizing CAF’s commitment to continue developing the competition at the technical and organizational levels in line with its long history.

The ceremony witnessed a special moment honoring the Moroccan star Achraf Hakimi, Paris Saint-Germain player, and presenting him with the African Golden Ball, in a scene that was highly appreciated by the fans. This honor reflected the player’s career and achievements, and was an inspiring message for the rising stars on the continent.

The opening ceremony was headed by the Crown Prince of Morocco, Prince Hassan bin Mohammed, who was keen to take commemorative photos with the players of the Moroccan and Comoros national teams, the two sides of the opening match.

The ceremony concluded in an enthusiastic atmosphere, announcing the start of the tournament competitions that football fans in Africa and the world are looking forward to, in the hope that the 2025 edition will witness strong matches and high technical levels that reflect the development of African football.
