
On the sidelines of the visit, Minister Hani met with his Omani counterpart, the Minister of Agricultural Wealth, Fisheries, and Water Resources, Dr. Saud Al Habsi. The meeting was attended by the Director-General of the Ministry and directors of various directorates, during which they discussed prospects for developing agricultural relations and expanding the scope of partnership between Lebanon and the Sultanate of Oman.
Discussions focused on several key points:
1- “The Omani side’s readiness to increase agricultural exports, especially after the operation of the direct flight line between the two countries at a rate of two flights per week.”
2- “Cooperation in the field of agricultural cooperatives and encouraging cooperative work in a way that supports small farmers.”
3- “Strengthening cooperation in the field of laboratories and agricultural research.”
4- “Cooperation in the fisheries sector and fish farming in its various fields.”
5- “Inviting Lebanese investors to invest in the agricultural sector in the Sultanate of Oman, with the provision of all necessary facilities.”
The Ministries of Agriculture in both Lebanon and the Sultanate of Oman have completed drafting a joint agricultural cooperation agreement, which will be signed in “March 2026”, marking the beginning of a new phase of exchange, experiences, and investments in the agricultural and food sectors between the two countries.
