Due to the adverse weather conditions caused by the storm “Byron,” an Aegean Airlines plane changed its route from Larnaca to Tel Aviv, passing through Lebanese airspace.
As a result, the plane landed at Ben Gurion Airport approximately half an hour behind schedule.
On Wednesday, emergency teams and municipalities across Israel raised their alert level to maximum, with the onset of the storm accompanied by heavy rain and strong winds, with serious warnings of flash floods and widespread disruptions.
In a related context, the director of the Meteorological Service in Beit Dagan, Dr. Amir Givati, stated that thunderstorms are expected from the north of the country to the northern Negev, with an increased possibility of flooding, especially along the coastal strip and low-lying areas.
