لودريان في اليرزة: دعم فرنسي متواصل للجيش اللبناني

In his office in Yarzeh, the Army Commander, General Rudolf Haikal, received the Special Envoy of French President Emmanuel Macron, former Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, accompanied by a delegation, in the presence of the French Ambassador to Lebanon, Hervé Magro. The meeting discussed the latest developments in Lebanon and the region, as well as ways to support the army in facing current difficulties.

Earlier, General Haikal received in Yarzeh a delegation that included the ambassadors of the fifteen member states and their representatives on the United Nations Security Council. During the meeting, a briefing was presented on the general situation in the country and security developments, in addition to how to consolidate stability in Lebanon during this critical stage.

The discussion included the tasks of the military establishment and the field efforts made by the army, especially with regard to the implementation of the first phase of its plan in the South Litani area within the specified timeframe, in compliance with relevant international resolutions.

Likewise, the post-“UNIFIL” phase was discussed, and means of enhancing cooperation between the Lebanese Army and international partner entities were reviewed, in order to ensure the sustainability of security and maintain calm in the south.
