Minister of Public Works and Transport, Fayez Rasamny, held an extensive meeting with the technical staff of the ministry responsible for the maintenance and development of rainwater drainage networks on main roads and highways, in order to review the readiness of these networks.

During the meeting, Rasamny stressed the need to maintain the highest levels of readiness in cleaning and disinfecting rainwater drainage networks and sewers, in order to prevent water from accumulating or flooding that could threaten the safety of citizens.

He also highlighted the importance of consolidating cooperation between relevant ministries and departments, while keeping emergency teams on constant alert for immediate intervention in areas that may experience flooding.

Rasamny praised the efforts made by the regional teams in the South, Bekaa, and Mount Lebanon, praising their rapid response during the recent storm, which contributed to keeping roads open and safe for traffic, and pointed out that the success of the ministry’s plan depends on the commitment of all teams to field work.

At the end of the meeting, the Minister instructed those concerned in the ministry to prepare the technical files related to the road paving works included in next year’s plan, in preparation for starting their implementation in accordance with the legal procedures followed, in order to ensure the continuation of road maintenance and enhance infrastructure readiness.
