FC Barcelona v Atletico de Madrid - LaLiga EA Sports

Barcelona has received bad news with Dani Olmo’s injury, with initial estimates suggesting his potential absence from the field until next January, putting the team in a difficult position with the increasing number of matches and intensifying competition this season.

According to the Spanish newspaper “Mundo Deportivo”, Olmo was injured during the match between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, after receiving a ball from his teammate Robert Lewandowski on the outskirts of the penalty area, then advanced inside the area and scored a beautiful goal with a powerful left-footed shot that settled in Oblak’s goal.

Olmo lost his balance while shooting, and fell incorrectly, his shoulder colliding with the ground forcefully.

The Spanish player left the field with the help of the medical staff, before Dr. Ricard Bruna performed first aid in the dressing room.

Hans Flick, the coach of Barcelona, said after the match: “Olmo has a shoulder problem, and we will see what happens tomorrow.”

The newspaper “Mundo Deportivo” clarified that initial expectations indicate the possibility of Olmo’s absence until January 2026, pending the results of new examinations that he will undergo on Wednesday.

This injury is added to Olmo’s history of previous injuries to his left shoulder; where he had previously suffered a similar dislocation during his time playing with Leipzig, and was forced at the time to undergo surgery to treat the injury.
