According to the “Bayern Insider” podcast, Kane informed club officials that he does not intend to activate the release clause in his contract next summer, which allows him to leave for 65 million euros.
Recently, there has been much talk about Barcelona’s desire to sign Kane to replace Robert Lewandowski, whose contract with the Catalan team expires in 2026.
But it seems that the Spanish club will have to back down from this deal, given the player’s clear desire to stay with Bayern Munich.
In exclusive statements to the German newspaper “Bild,” Kane stated: “I have not contacted anyone, and no one has contacted me. I feel very comfortable in the current situation, even if we have not yet started discussions with Bayern Munich about my future,” emphasizing that the idea of leaving Munich is not on the table for him at the moment.
Christian Falk, head of football at “Bild,” explained that Bayern Munich’s policy and agreement with the player’s agent stipulate that no contract extension negotiations will begin before the expiration of the release clause on January 31st. As a result, any team wishing to sign the player next summer must activate this clause before the deadline.
Kane, 32 years old, has been in a state of complete stability at Bayern Munich since his arrival from Tottenham in the summer of 2023 and has become a key element in the team’s attack.
This season, he has performed brilliantly, scoring 24 goals in 19 games, in addition to making 3 other goals, confirming his role as a reliable source of goals.
In recent weeks, expectations have increased about the possibility of Kane renewing his contract with the German club until 2027, instead of moving to another team, which the player himself has welcomed.
Bayern Munich’s sporting director, Max Eberl, also stated that Kane is very comfortable within the club, saying:
“He feels completely comfortable with us, and we love him. He is happy in Munich – so what’s stopping that?”
Based on these indicators, it seems that Bayern Munich is on its way to ensuring the stay of its first star, while Barcelona’s hopes are fading significantly in signing the player during the next summer transfer window, so Kane remains a key striker in the Bavarian team and continues to shine at the local and continental levels.
