The Beirut Port Authority announced in a statement that the port received the papal car on Friday morning, as part of preparations for His Holiness the Pope’s visit, where he will offer a silent prayer at the site of the August 4 explosion. The papal car entered the port amid tight security measures, undertaken by army units and specialized agencies, in coordination with the organizational committees responsible for following up on the details of the visit.
This step is considered part of the final touches to the logistical preparations, which include the final design of the motorcade route, securing the entrances and exits leading to the prayer site, and determining the stopping points and locations that the Pope will pass through upon arrival in the vicinity of the explosion site.
