
Zoppas pointed out that this huge expenditure opens up wide horizons for Italian companies, especially in the fields of infrastructure, energy, water technologies, and industrial equipment, which are areas in which Italy has advanced expertise, in addition to the sectors of design, furniture, fashion, food, and automobiles, which are receiving increasing attention in the Saudi market.
Zoppas also explained that partnerships between the two countries exist and are gradually developing by taking advantage of Italian expertise in “Vision 2030” projects, which will be one of the main drivers of cooperation in the coming years, noting a 21% growth in Italian exports to Saudi Arabia in 2024, exceeding 6 billion euros, with a leap in the pharmaceutical sector of more than 121%.
He confirmed that Italy ranks second in Europe in furniture exports to Saudi Arabia after Germany by a narrow margin, expecting that the forum will contribute to strengthening communication between government institutions and companies, and providing a more attractive regulatory environment, by bringing producers and buyers together on one platform, paving the way for building direct and sustainable trade relations in the long term.
