الحرب في أوكرانيا: لا منتصر فيها... ترامب: بايدن أتاح لـ"بوتين" "الفرصة"

U.S. President Donald Trump launched a scathing attack on the Ukrainian leadership and European countries, considering the Russian-Ukrainian war “a loss for everyone.” He added that it could have been avoided if there had been, in his words, “strong and correct leadership” in Washington and Kyiv.

Trump pointed out that the leadership in Ukraine “showed no appreciation for our efforts,” criticizing European countries that “are still buying oil from Russia despite the war.” He described the conflict as “violent and terrible,” stressing that it would not have happened if he had not lost the 2020 elections, which he again described as “rigged and stolen.”

Trump mentioned that Russian President Vladimir Putin “would never have attacked” during his presidency, believing that Putin saw Joe Biden’s rise to power as “his opportunity.” He continued: “I inherited a war that should not have happened, it is a war that is a loss for everyone,” describing the conflict as a tragedy that led to “millions of unnecessary deaths.”

Trump accused the Biden administration of providing “free weapons and funding” to Ukraine, holding the United States responsible for “the largest part” of the costs of supporting Kyiv through the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

Reports: American pressure on Kyiv to agree to a peace agreement

In a related context, the British newspaper “The Guardian” reported, citing American officials, that Washington has informed its allies in NATO that it is moving to pressure Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to agree to a peace agreement within days, warning that Kyiv will face a “worse agreement” in the future if it rejects the current proposal.

European countries objected to the plan, which sources said requires Ukraine to give up more territory and partially disarm, conditions that countries supporting Kyiv consider as “surrender.”

Details of the American plan: territorial concessions and limited guarantees

According to leaked documents, the American plan includes the following:

-Territorial concessions to Russia, including parts of the Donbass region currently under Kyiv’s control, and acceptance of actual Russian control over other areas.

-Freezing the current lines of contact as a fait accompli.

-Limiting the number of the Ukrainian army to a maximum of 600,000 soldiers.

-Closing the door permanently to Ukraine’s accession to NATO.

The plan also includes a limited security guarantee package provided to Ukraine in the event of Russia returning to fight, which includes “intelligence and logistical support” and additional steps “determined as needed,” without any commitment to direct military intervention. The guarantees extend for ten years, renewable.

If Kyiv accepts the deal, Russia will be invited to return to the G8, with a gradual lifting of sanctions imposed on it. The plan also includes areas of American-Russian cooperation in artificial intelligence, energy, and mining projects in the Arctic.
