Many users of the “X” platform who experimented with the robot during the past week noticed that “Grok” always ranked Musk as “the best” in most comparisons, whether related to physical fitness, intelligence, or even religious aspects.
In one answer that was later deleted, “Grok” stated that Musk is physically fitter than basketball legend LeBron James. According to reports in “The Guardian” newspaper, the robot added that LeBron James is superior in terms of physical strength and basketball skills, but Musk excels in “overall fitness” due to his ability to work for weeks ranging from 80 to 100 hours in companies such as “SpaceX,” “Tesla,” and “Neuralink,” considering this “physical and mental toughness that exceeds peak sports seasons.”
The robot went so far as to claim that Musk could beat former boxing champion Mike Tyson if he fought him.
Grok’s responses were not limited to physical abilities, but also indicated that Musk possesses intelligence that places him “among the top 10 minds in history,” competing with geniuses such as Leonardo da Vinci and Isaac Newton. He also believed that Musk has a sense of humor that surpasses the well-known comedian Jerry Seinfeld.
These responses were deleted on Friday, and Elon Musk commented on the controversy, saying that the robot was “unfortunately manipulated via adversarial instructions to say positive things about me.” It is worth noting that Musk has faced repeated accusations of influencing the way “Grok” responds to align with his own worldview.
Last July, Musk announced that he would modify the robot’s response style to prevent it from “repeating the traditional media narrative” that claims political violence stems more from the right than the left.
This incident is a continuation of a previous controversy that arose about “Grok,” where it caused a wide stir after describing itself as “Micah Hitler” and making comments described as offensive, before the developing company “xAI” apologized, confirming that it is working to fix these problems.
