The ministry issued a statement clarifying that this Israeli step “constitutes a new attempt to impose a fait accompli that contradicts the relevant Security Council resolutions,” and affirmed that these Israeli moves “fall within the occupation’s policies aimed at consolidating aggression and continuing the violation of Syrian territory.”
The statement affirmed that Damascus views this visit as “an unacceptable escalation” and an attempt to exploit the current regional conditions “to strengthen the illegal military presence” in southern Syria.
The Syrian Foreign Ministry also renewed its demand for “Israel’s withdrawal from all Syrian territories,” stressing that the Israeli measures taken in the south are “null and void and have no legal effect under international law.”
The ministry appealed to the international community to “assume its responsibilities and deter Israeli practices and compel it to withdraw completely,” stressing “the need to return to the 1974 Disengagement Agreement and respect internationally recognized borders.”
In conclusion, Syria affirmed that it “will continue to defend its sovereignty and inalienable rights until the recovery of all occupied territories.”
