In a related context, a call took place between Sheikh Akl and the Mufti of the Republic, Sheikh “Abdul Latif Daryan,” and the Vice President of the Supreme Islamic Shiite Council, Sheikh “Ali Al-Khatib,” where they discussed the upcoming visit of His Holiness the Pope to Lebanon and the special arrangements for the planned meeting.
Sheikh Akl received at his home in Shania the head of the Executive Committee of the Council of Catholic Patriarchs and Bishops in Lebanon, Bishop “Michel Aoun,” accompanied by the ecclesiastical coordinators for the visit of His Holiness Pope “Laon XIV” to Lebanon: Bishop “Mar Mattias Charles Murad,” and Monsignor “Abdo Abu Kassem,” in the presence of the head of the Religious Committee in the Religious Council, Sheikh “Ismat Al-Jurdi,” and a member of the Religious Advisory Board, Sheikh “Wajih Abu Mughlabieh,” and Sheikh “Kamal Abi Al-Muna.”
The delegation handed Sheikh Abi Al-Muna an official invitation to attend the Islamic-Christian meeting with His Holiness the Pope in Beirut. This visit was an opportunity to emphasize the importance of Lebanon and its mission and the need to preserve it, as well as the importance of the visit and the Vatican’s interest in Lebanon.
Sheikh Abi Al-Muna also received Sheikh “Hatem Halim Malaeb” accompanied by a delegation of Sheikhs from the Malaeb family, headed by Sheikh “Abu Nabil Adib Malaeb,” where Sheikh “Hatem” presented his poetry collection and an invitation to attend the signing ceremony in the town of Baisour.
He also received businessman “Jihad Merhej” accompanied by lawyers “Amir” and “Amjad Ammar.”
Among the visitors were also the Dean of “Prince Sayed College of Monotheistic Sciences,” Sheikh Dr. “Sultan Al-Qantar,” and the Director of the College, Sheikh “Hadi Al-Aridi,” in addition to the Waqf Committee of the Al-Yahya family from Ain Dara, headed by Sheikh “Kamil Yahya,” as well as Professors “Wissam Abu Dargham” and “Hassan Zeineddine,” where some issues related to religious affairs in Lebanon and abroad were discussed.
