تحذير بالغ الأهمية: خطر ترك شواحن الهواتف في مقبس الكهرباء

“Dmitry Dokukin,” head of the accessories department at MTS, points out that leaving the charger plugged into the outlet constantly may lead to the melting of the socket, blown fuses, and even a house fire.

He explains that this is especially true for cheap chargers that do not carry any information about the brand or manufacturer.

He adds: “The performance of any power supply device deteriorates over time, especially if it is permanently connected to the electrical network. This is because the continuous electric current accelerates the damage to its components, and at some point, the device may overheat and spark, or even cause a short circuit. In the worst cases, this may lead to the melting of the socket, the explosion of fuses, and even a fire. These accidents are rare in daily life, but they do happen with poor-quality devices.”

He also explains that insulation and overheating protection are often neglected in cheap converters, which is why they may “burn out” from the inside if connected for long periods. The risk of fire increases significantly if the electrical wiring in the house is old or one of them is not tightly connected.

The expert points out that high-quality electrical converters from well-known brands are tested according to electronic safety standards, and with their sound wiring connections, they generally pose no danger.

But he emphasizes that even in this case, it is better not to leave them plugged in for long periods, especially near flammable materials or unattended.

“Dokukin” stresses that disconnecting the converter from the outlet after charging will extend the life of the device and reduce the risk of any unpleasant surprises.

He advises: “If the charger starts to heat up, make a clicking sound, emit a bad odor, or the wire corrodes, it is best to dispose of it immediately. Because the cost of buying a new converter is less than the potential consequences.”
