The Israeli army spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, stated in a tweet on the “X” platform that: “Earlier today, two suspicious individuals were spotted in the vicinity of Hamames in southern Lebanon, where our forces fired warning shots to deter them, and they moved away from the area without any casualties.”
Adraee clarified that: “After examining the incident, it became clear that the two suspects were soldiers from the United Nations forces (UNIFIL) who were patrolling the field, and they were classified as suspects due to poor weather conditions. The incident is under investigation.”
Adraee confirmed in his post that: “The Israeli army confirms that no deliberate fire was directed at UNIFIL soldiers, and the matter is being addressed through official military coordination channels.”
Adraee concluded his statement by saying: “The Israeli army will continue to work to remove any threat targeting the State of Israel.”
