In a statement published via the “X” platform, the SDF stated: “In a new attack that reflects the state of chaos and absurdity pursued by some factions affiliated with the Damascus government, our forces were subjected to a treacherous attack on the axis of Ghanem Al-Ali village in the eastern countryside of Raqqa, in which those factions used suicide drones and heavy weapons, without any regard for the safety of civilians or the stability of the region.”
The Syrian Democratic Forces added that its forces confronted the attack with full responsibility, stating that the clashes resulted in minor injuries to three of its fighters, in addition to confirmed injuries among the attacking elements.
It affirmed that “this reckless behavior confirms the insistence of those parties to drag the region towards tension and undermine all efforts aimed at maintaining stability.”
The SDF affirmed that its forces’ response “was proportionate to the nature of the attack, with full commitment to restraint and preventing the expansion of the circle of clashes,” adding: “We affirm that we will not stand idly by in the face of the recurrence of these attacks and provocations, and we will take appropriate measures to protect our regions, our forces, and our people from any threat.”
It concluded its statement by saying: “We call on the sponsors of these factions to rein them in and stop their irresponsible practices, as they pose a direct threat to security and stability throughout the region.”
