الجميّل يهاجم "حزب الله": سلاحكم يستخدم لترويع اللبنانيين والتحكم بالاستحقاقات الانتخابية، لا للمقاومة

The head of the Lebanese Kataeb party, MP Sami Gemayel, sparked a wave of discussion after commenting on statements made by the Secretary-General of “Hezbollah,” Sheikh Naim Qassem, which touched on the issue of a ceasefire and the party’s weapons in the South Litani area.

Through his personal account on the “X” platform, Gemayel published a tweet stating: “If the weapon does not threaten the northern settlements and does not concern southern Litani, according to Sheikh Naim’s recent statement, then it has certainly become for intimidating the Lebanese, pressuring institutions, and influencing elections.”

Gemayel’s comment comes in response to Qassem’s statements, in which he said that the ceasefire with Israel is “limited to southern Litani,” adding that Israel must “withdraw from Lebanon and release the prisoners,” while at the same time affirming “there is no danger to the northern settlements.”

Gemayel considered that Qassem’s words represent proof that the party’s weapons are no longer directed against Israel, but have become a tool of internal pressure used to influence the political scene and the upcoming electoral process.
