In a gesture reflecting significant importance on the political, security, and economic levels, MP Fouad Makhzoumi, head of the National Dialogue Party, hosted a high-level delegation from the U.S. Treasury Department at his home. The delegation was headed by Dr. Sebastian Gorka, Deputy Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Counterterrorism at the U.S. National Security Council.

The visiting delegation included prominent figures such as John Hurley, Under Secretary of the Treasury for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, in addition to Rudolph Atallah, a counterterrorism specialist at the National Security Council, and a group of other officials from the American side.

Prior to visiting Makhzoumi’s home, the delegation had met with President Joseph Aoun at Baabda Palace. Makhzoumi hosted the delegation at a dinner attended by a group of prominent political figures.

This meeting is considered part of a series of meetings conducted by the American delegation in Beirut, where discussions revolve around various economic and security issues, in addition to the latest developments in Lebanon, and the bilateral relations between Beirut and Washington.
