The government shutdown, which has lasted for forty days, has caused the suspension of salaries for air traffic controllers and other federal employees. With Thanksgiving approaching, “Davy” stated that “many will not be able to travel by air due to fewer flights being operated.”
In this context, the Federal Aviation Administration issued directives to airlines to reduce the number of daily flights by 4% starting Friday at forty major airports. This percentage is scheduled to increase to 6% on Tuesday, and then to 10% by November 14. (cnbc)
