
In a statement to the Kuwaiti newspaper “Al-Anbaa,” Baroud explained that he presented the District Governor with a detailed testimony explaining the circumstances of the events, stressing that the case has political dimensions related to settling scores within the town of Jaita, following the recent municipal elections, the “revengeful aftermath of which has not yet ended,” as he said.
The mayor pointed out that there is currently no official study that defines the activities allowed or prohibited inside the Jeita Grotto, adding that the municipality had verbally notified the Ministry of Tourism regarding last Friday evening, and is ready to provide technical responses to any observations or reports issued by the scientific committee formed by the Ministry.
