إسرائيل تستعيد جثمان رهينة من حماس: مواصلة البحث عن المفقودين

Israel announced on Tuesday evening that it had received the remains of one of the hostages kidnapped by Hamas earlier, under the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip. The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed in a statement: “Israel received, through the Red Cross, the coffin of one of the hostages who died, and it was handed over to a force from the Israeli army and the Shabak inside the Gaza Strip.”

The statement added, quoting Agence France-Presse, that the remains will be transferred to the Institute of Forensic Medicine to determine the identity of the deceased.

In a related context, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced that it had found the body of an Israeli soldier in the Gaza Strip, noting that arrangements are underway to hand over the body to Israel.

On another front, a report by “Axios” revealed that Washington had presented the United Nations with a draft resolution that includes the disarmament of Hamas if it does not surrender its weapons voluntarily, in addition to sending a stabilization force to the Gaza Strip for two years.

According to the report, the United States aims to deploy forces in Gaza by January 2026, where these forces will work to maintain security on the border with Egypt, protect humanitarian corridors in the sector, and train the Palestinian police.

In another development, US President Donald Trump renewed his call for Israel to allow foreign journalists into Gaza after the ceasefire came into effect. Two US officials explained in press statements that some parts of Gaza are more dangerous than others, and that Israel still controls the eastern half of the Strip.

The Trump administration reiterated its request to grant journalists access to Gaza, despite acknowledging that this issue is not a top priority for it.

In contrast, scenes from Gaza showed excavation equipment with Hamas members who were preparing for search operations for the bodies of Israeli hostages in the Shuja’iyya neighborhood, east of Gaza City.

On the humanitarian level, five Palestinian prisoners received from the Red Cross arrived at Al-Aqsa Hospital after being released from Israeli prisons.
