
The Minister of Displaced Persons, Kamal Shehadeh, stated in a statement to Al Arabiya channel, that the Lebanese government “does not control all the borders yet, and we are still at the beginning of the road,” stressing that the series of crises that have hit Lebanon “would not have happened if we were living in a normal state.”
Shehadeh added that the Lebanese army is doing its best to confine weapons to the state, noting that the government is awaiting the issuance of the second report from the army command in this regard.
The minister also pointed out that Lebanon is committed to implementing the ceasefire agreement and does not tolerate it.
On the political level, Shehadeh stressed that the diplomatic track with Israel represents the best option at the present time, stating that “diplomacy is required after the military confrontation that cost us a lot of destruction.”
