In an official statement issued by the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, it stated that “Israel has received, via the Red Cross, the coffins of three kidnapped persons who were killed, and they have been handed over to the forces of the Israeli army and the Shabak inside the Gaza Strip, before being transferred to Israel where they will be received in an official military ceremony.”
The statement indicated that “the coffins will later be transferred to the National Center for Forensic Medicine of the Ministry of Health, with an official announcement to their families to be issued as soon as the identification process is completed.”
The Israeli army also stated in a statement that “the coffins are scheduled to be examined before being covered with Israeli flags and a short ceremony led by a military rabbi will be held, before the remains are transferred to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Tel Aviv to complete the identification.”
