Minister of Interior and Municipalities Ahmad Hajar met with his Bahraini counterpart, Minister of Interior Lieutenant-General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, on the sidelines of the “Manama Dialogue” forum held in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

A statement issued by Minister Hajar’s office stated that this meeting was an opportunity to emphasize the strength and durability of the brotherly and historical relations between Lebanon and Bahrain, as well as the sincere desire to enhance cooperation between the two countries in various fields, with a particular focus on the security aspect.

During the meeting, the two ministers discussed mechanisms for activating bilateral cooperation, exchanging experiences, and strengthening coordination between the security agencies in both countries, with the aim of confronting common security challenges and maintaining security and stability in the region.

Minister Hajar affirmed Lebanon’s commitment to supporting the security and stability of sister countries, and stressed that Lebanon will not be “a launchpad for any threat or abuse,” but rather will be “an element of stability and an active partner in promoting regional security.”

Hajar also pointed to the need to strengthen communication between the two countries through official visits and developed cooperation programs, and revealed that he intends to accept “his Bahraini counterpart’s invitation to visit Manama soon,” in order to complete discussions on issues of common interest and develop institutional cooperation between the two countries.
