A new report revealed that, last March, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg requested advice from US Attorney General Pam Bondi about the best way to communicate with US President Donald Trump.
A book titled “Revenge: Donald Trump and the Campaign That Changed America,” by ABC journalist Jonathan Karl, stated that Zuckerberg sought advice from Bondi on how to speak “effectively” with Trump about “meta concerns,” according to what was published by the “Business Insider” website.
The book reported that this meeting was not announced in advance, and took place during Zuckerberg’s visit to Washington, D.C., in March 2025. After his meeting with Bondi, Zuckerberg headed to the White House on the same day, where he met Trump directly.
This meeting took place a few weeks before the start of the Federal Trade Commission’s trial of Meta in the antitrust case, which began in April and ended last May, without a final ruling yet on whether the company had violated antitrust laws.
If it is found guilty of monopoly, the parent company may be forced to separate the “Instagram” and “WhatsApp” applications from it.
It is noteworthy that Zuckerberg was among the senior technology company officials who attended Trump’s inauguration ceremony last January, and also participated in an official dinner held by the White House that brought Trump together with technology sector leaders last September.
