The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military arm of the Hamas movement, announced that it would hand over the remains of an Israeli prisoner that were found today, Tuesday, at exactly eight o’clock in the evening, Gaza time.

A statement issued by the Brigades said: “In the context of the Al-Aqsa Flood Agreement for the exchange of prisoners, the Martyr Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades will hand over the remains of one of the occupation prisoners who were found a short while ago in one of the tunnels in the Gaza Strip, at eight o’clock in the evening, Gaza time.”

It is noteworthy that yesterday, Monday, Al-Qassam handed over the remains of an Israeli prisoner to the Red Cross, which in turn transferred them to the Israeli army inside the Gaza Strip. A member of the Al-Qassam Brigades reported that the remains were found during excavation operations in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood in Gaza City, an area currently located within the Hamas-controlled side of the “yellow line” according to the ceasefire agreement.

On the other hand, the Israeli Prime Minister stated that the parts of the remains that Hamas handed over to Tel Aviv belong to an Israeli prisoner, and parts of his remains were recovered two years ago during an operation carried out by the Israeli army inside Gaza.
