Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal has undergone a new surgery on his right knee, the same one he previously injured in October 2024.

The Spanish player underwent an arthroscopic procedure after a loose body was discovered in the knee. Carvajal is expected to be out of action for 6 to 10 weeks, making his return before 2026 unlikely.

Spanish newspaper “AS” reported that Carvajal has left the operating room and immediately started a rehabilitation program.

The newspaper confirmed the success of the operation and indicated that the player will undergo a careful rehabilitation period under the supervision of the club’s medical staff.

He is expected to be out of the team until mid-December, but sources within Real Madrid suggest that his return may be delayed until the beginning of 2026.

This injury is another blow to the player, especially since this year will witness the World Cup.

The player had previously suffered a tear in the right soleus muscle during the match against Atlético Madrid at the Cívitas Metropolitano Stadium.

After a four-week absence, Carvajal participated in the El Clásico match against Barcelona for only 19 minutes as a substitute for Federico Valverde and performed well, but he felt discomfort in his knee after the match, which necessitated urgent medical examinations.

The following morning, Carvajal underwent an MRI, which showed a loose body inside the joint, prompting doctors to decide to perform surgery as a safer option.

Dr. Leyes performed the surgery under the supervision of the Real Madrid medical staff, and it was successful.

Carvajal will begin his rehabilitation program and will definitely miss the team’s next nine matches against Valencia, Liverpool, Rayo Vallecano, Georgia, Turkey, Elche, Olympiacos, Girona, and Celta Vigo.

With six weeks of absence, the rest period is expected to be extended until the risk of relapse is completely eliminated, which means he may also miss the matches against Manchester City, Alavés, and Sevilla, and therefore the rest of 2025.

His return in January is expected to coincide with the Spanish Super Cup, which is the most likely scenario for his return to the field.

It is worth noting that the period between December 21 and January 4 will not witness any matches, giving him extra time for full recovery.

During this period, Real Madrid will rely on Trent Alexander-Arnold and Valverde to fill the right-back position until the end of the year.

AS reported that Carvajal will begin a new rehabilitation journey from a new injury to his right knee, and after the successful arthroscopic knee surgery, the main goal is to regain his fitness by 200%.

Carvajal’s and Yamal’s Crisis:

It seems that things have reached their peak between Barcelona’s and Spain’s young star, Lamine Yamal, and Dani Carvajal, Real Madrid’s captain and his captain in the Spanish national team.

Reports indicate that Carvajal got into an argument with Lamine Yamal after the El Clásico match, following the statements of the “Barcelona jewel” against Real Madrid, accusing them of benefiting from the referees and complaints against them.

Real Madrid defeated Barcelona 2-1 on Sunday at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, in the tenth round of La Liga.

According to reports, Carvajal went to Yamal after the match and sarcastically asked him to stop talking so much, and the players of both teams intervened after that, leading to a strong argument.

Hours after the end of the match, Yamal unfollowed Carvajal on Instagram, which suggests that he has decided to sever his relationship with the captain of Real Madrid and the Spanish national team.

Clásico Clashes:

The final minutes of the El Clásico match between Real Madrid and Barcelona witnessed noticeable tension inside the stadium and on the benches, as the atmosphere flared up in stoppage time.

The clashes began after a strong intervention that led to Pedri receiving a red card after receiving a second yellow card, leaving the field in the 90+10 minute.

The events did not stop there, but altercations broke out between members of the technical staffs and players of the two teams near the technical area, causing chaos on the lines, before the refereeing crew intervened to calm the situation.

After the referee blew the final whistle, the tension was renewed following a verbal altercation between Thibaut Courtois and Lamine Yamal, before the players of both teams intervened, and the situation turned into a clash between several elements, including Antonio Rüdiger and Raphinha, who were present in the vicinity of the events despite being outside the list.

These scenes reflect the amount of tension and excitement that prevailed until the last moments of the Clásico, in a match characterized by competitiveness, physical conflict, and psychological pressure until the last moment.
