Saudi writer and political analyst Ali al-Khashiban addressed a sharp message to the extremist Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, in response to his insulting statements against the Kingdom, in which he said: “If Saudi Arabia tells us: normalization in exchange for a Palestinian state, my friends, no thank you. Continue riding camels in the Saudi desert.”
In an article entitled “A Message to Smotrich: Saudi Arabia is a State that Possesses History and Geography” published by Al-Riyadh newspaper, al-Khashiban wrote that “the extremist leaders in the Israeli entity have begun to lose their balance when talking about the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which is one of the most important countries in the world, not just the Middle East.”
He pointed out that “Israel, which occupied land it does not own, is trying today to speak as if it has a history and land, while the camel itself in the region preceded its existence by millions of years,” adding that “whoever does not possess the elements of history tries to belittle others in order to hide his alienation from the geography on which he lives.”
Al-Khashiban believes that Israel was imposed on the region by international powers after World War II, saying that “many Jews realize that this entity was imposed on history and geography, to strip the land of its inhabitants for the sake of an unviable Jewish idea.”
The writer stressed that “the message that Smotrich must understand is based on one principle: no normalization without a Palestinian state,” stressing that this is the ثابت Saudi position since the launch of the Arab Peace Initiative.
Al-Khashiban added sarcastically: “We have been riding camels for thousands of years and have achieved miracles from above them, and the world knows who Saudi Arabia is. It is the country that if it says, it does, and if it promises, it fulfills.”
He continued, “The value of some of our camels is worth more than the value of your home, because they live in their land and know their owners, but you are an occupier of land that does not belong to you.”
The Saudi writer concluded his article by affirming that “the language of superiority does not make peace, and the logic of arrogance does not stand up to the logic of ancient countries,” adding that “the Kingdom’s clear message to every extremist in Israel is: no peace and no normalization before the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, and this is the principle approved by the entire world.”
